Melissa Dixon operates Texas Tour Connection. We concentrate on Houston, Galveston, and Fort Bend. Touring can be arranged for the Austin, San Antonio, and all other areas of Texas. Melissa is very active in the Houston tourism industry. She is a member of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and she is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Professional Tour Guide Association of Houston as Vice President.. "The history of this area is an important part of tours I conduct. Enhance that history with some local feel for the area you are visiting. The growth of this area is an exciting approach also. I will be glad to customize a tour just for you and/or your group.Educated at the University of Texas with a concentration in commercial interior design, I became interested in historic preservation in the early 1960s when it was a new concept. I focus on historical Texas with a keen interest in the home life of early settlers. My tour training comes primarily from the Harris County Heritage Society Docent Training Program. That relationship fostered service as a docent, employment as a staff docent and, finally, a position on the Harris County Board during the mid 1990s. That responsibility was to plan and coordinate tours for The Heritage Society – that spurred the development of Texas Tour Connection as it exits today.
